A quiet and welcoming space for children, youth, and adults to paint freely — without instruction, judgment, or competition.
Do not wear new and expensive clothes as they may get stained with paints!
In Creana Studio, everyone receives their own place, materials, and time to paint at their own pace. There are no lessons, grades, or comparisons — only the joy of creating.
We provide all basic materials: paper, brushes, and paints. Participation is free for everyone. Donations are welcome and go entirely toward rent, art supplies, and maintenance.
Open painting sessions: daily from 10:00 to 18:00
Language and community evenings: several times per week — schedule announced on site and social media.
Creana welcomes volunteers who wish to contribute their time and care — helping to maintain the studio, assist participants, or support our social media presence. Learn more on the volunteer page.
Creana is inspired by the work of Arno Stern and the idea that every person — child or adult — carries a natural creative impulse that should unfold freely and without evaluation. We continue this tradition here in Pokhara, in our own rhythm and atmosphere.
Do not wear new and expensive clothes as they may get stained with paints.
In this space, children and adults of all ages received their own place for painting — without instruction, judgment, or comparison.
The project is inspired by the ideas of Arno Stern — an educator and researcher born in Kassel, who created the Closlieu studio in Paris. We continue this tradition in our own way: we have taken from it the essence — the idea of free creativity — and continue it in an open form, rhythm, and atmosphere.
